About Our Church
The Indianola Church of Christ is part of a fellowship of churches who seek renewel through recommitment to the power and passion found among God's people in the Bible (sometimes referred to as the "Restoration Movement"). We are committed to Jesus Christ and the core values He calls His people to invest in as described in the Old and New Testaments of the Bible.
Our vision at Indianola Church of Christ is to follow God's direction in expanding His kingdom in the local community and around the world by helping people to place their faith in Jesus Christ and to become His fully devoted followers.
We accomplish our vision by uniting with one another around our core values of worship, holiness, maturation, community, service, witness and influence. Through our commitment to prayer, the guidance of the Holy Spirit and Bible Study our members are equipped and supported as they bring transformation to lives, communities and culture.
We believe that salvation is only availble through Jesus Christ. Salvation refers to the personal commitment made by one who is able to understand the need for, requirments of and responsibilities associated with a life built upon, and immersed in, Jesus Christ.
Christ sets people free. The need and provision for salvation is described in Ephesians 2:1-10.
1. All people need salvation. Mankind is dead apart from Christ. People are not able to have life or animation in their spirit because the world, the devil and one's own flesh control us apart from Christ. Without salvation our actions earn us the most negative consequences. (Ephesians 2:1-3)
2. God makes provision for the salvation of sinful man. The story of Jesus' death, burial and resurrection is not only about Christ but also about the need for man to put to death his old nature, to bury it and to begin to live with a new power and purpose (reflected through water baptism). Because of God's love and mercy, individuals are made alive in Christ through His grace. Salvation provides a new purpose to all people. (Ephesians 2:4-6)
3. God gives purpose through salvation. People are saved by grace, through faith, apart from the things that they do, in order that their lives might reflect the grace and kindness of God as revealed through Jesus Christ. They are then free to serve God every day giving Him praise and glory for what He has done for them. (Ephesians 2:7-10)
Our hope at Indianola Church of Christ is to work together in order to bring glory to God and draw more people to Him through Jesus Christ.
