Moses was a truly great man. But he still had flaws and weaknesses. He made mistakes. He was in every way “human.” Yet God chose him to do great things to lead God’s People to the Promised Land. God used him as a prophet, leader, and intercessor. But Moses crossed a line with God and failed to follow through with God’s directives in a very public way. God had no choice but to punish Moses. God told Moses that he would not be allowed into the Promised Land. This Sunday, Mike Richardson will lead us in a study of how “falling” impacted Moses and why God chose to react in such a strong way. There are valuable lessons we can learn through all of this about what it means to be a follower of the living God.
