The Mysteries of God — The Book of Isaiah: Chapter 43

Bible Text:  Isaiah 43:1-2, Isaiah 43:4-7, Isaiah 43:10-12, Isaiah 43:16-19, 2 Corinthians 5:17, 21, Ephesians 4:22-24, Mark 2:18-22, Revelation 21:1-2, 5

Message Summary: Throughout the book of Isaiah, we find mystery after mystery being declared and revealed. Mysteries about God, mysteries about the coming Messiah, and mysteries of God’s great love for his people.  It upon God’s great love that chapter 43 centers its focus. God’s people were a conflicted people. They were torn by their desires to be good, to do good, and to pursue the things of God and other more selfish desires. To acquire wealth and comfort. To take advantage of others’ misfortunes. And to walk away from God and set their own course in life. Isaiah had to warn God’s people repeatedly to turn back to God. But here, in chapter 43, Isaiah gets to share a different kind of message. A message for the time when God’s people will finally turn themselves back toward him and pursue him with all of their hearts.  When God’s forgiveness would be fully received and his people begin to understand just how great and amazing God’s love for them really was.
