Traveling Light – Psalm 23:4 – TRUST

We have often talked about a common misconception that
many people have about what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ. Many believe that a commitment to follow Jesus ought to mean that God will take care of us and all, or most, of our  problems will go away. But this is not an idea that
comes from the Bible. The Bible makes it very clear that the churched and the unchurched alike will face the same kind of problems and struggles with life.  Choosing to follow Jesus does not somehow give us a “get-out-of-problem” card that frees us from heartache and suffering. What the Bible does promise us is
that God will help us through our greatest struggles and will give us the strength to endure and overcome all the problems that might come our way. This is the topic King David addresses in the fourth verse of Psalm 23. What happens when we “walk through the valley of the shadow of death?” How does our relationship with Jesus Christ prepare us to deal with the greatest challenges of our life?
